I learned about Flower Friday last year from Lorilin@Bugbugbooks and have been having a blast sharing some flower pics. Please check out Lorilin’s blog if you haven’t already for book reviews and more!
It’s near the end of January and although it’s fairly nice out today, winter isn’t over yet. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m ready for spring! I’m really looking forward to the upcoming growing season. I’ve been looking through some of my pictures of the gardens and found a few lovely sunflower pictures from our sunflower gardens to share. I thought I’d share a few today for Flower Friday.
I love growing all different kinds of sunflowers. Many of these are aliens and have just cross pollinated over and over again. You never know what you’re going to get when saving the seed!
These were taken with my phone and aren’t the greatest pictures, but you can see how well these grew. It’s like Christmas in July with all the blooms.
I’m really looking forward to it. It’s a new season with new seed, a new camera, and a new attitude!
Thanks for checking out Flower Friday! What are you growing this year? What’s your favorite flower? Feel free to share your thoughts or suggestions below. Have a great weekend! 🙂
I love sunflowers and every time I see one, I smile. They’re so friendly and while they don’t really have a smell, they do attract birds (which I adore). 🙂
Happy Friday, Mischenko!

Sunflowers always cheer me up. They remind me so much of Tuscany. The fields in the springtime are just covered in their yellow beauty. Lovely for w cold winter day!

I haven’t been to Tuscany, but hope to some day. Thanks for sharing, Vanessa! ❤🌻

Lovely pictures. This post makes me think of Afro Samurai – an anime were the heroes are searching for a swordsman who smells of sunflowers.

Here’s commenting for real this time, haha. I really love the first one. It’s petals remind me of daisies which I love. Looking again, I noticed the red ones! Do they really come out red like that???? That’s so cool! You might have to mail me a dried one 😉

The first one is my favorite too! We use cross pollinated seeds so you just never know what you’re going to get. The red ones look just like you see in the picture and there are many different ones, some that look almost black. So fun! I’ll try and send you some seed so you can grow some. They are so simple to grow and I’ve never met a person who doesn’t love looking at them. ❤

Might be my new favorite thing-flower Friday! I have my own yard for the first time and this spring, I can’t wait to grow anything I can. Fresh flowers are so peaceful and there’s something so calming knowing that you grew them and helped them make their beauty!

How exciting! I hope you get to grow some neat stuff this year. Let me know what you end up going with. Fresh flowers are so very peaceful and beautiful. They’re worth the time it takes to grow and care for them. Thank you! ❤

I honestly don’t know what or when to start but I’m hoping the older ladies in my family (with more experience) can help!

It’s so simple, just Google to find your zone. Sunflowers grow so fast, the seed can go right in the ground after the frost is gone! 😉 Let me know if you have any questions. I’m not an expert or anything, but maybe I can help. ❤

I love sunflowers. I used to grow them in my backyard. It’s something to see all the seeds that come from them.

It is crazy how many seeds you can get from just one sunflower head! I love the way the birds fly in to eat as much as they can too. 🙂 Thanks for sharing! I’m so glad you love them too. ❤
