Music Monday
This meme was created by Drew @ The Tattooed Book Geek. You pick a song that you really like and share it on Monday.
Last time I shared:
Peter Gabriel “In Your Eyes” from Say Anything
Today’s share:
Lauren Daigle “You Say”
I shared “Rescue” last month and can’t help but share “You Say” as well. This whole album is wonderful, in my opinion.
This song for me was just a reminder of identity. It was a reminder that I know when I’m weak, He’s strong—so how do I change that and bring that into my every day life? When I feel inadquate how is it that there’s always these moments where I feel like God just steps in and supercedes my inadequacies. This entire song was so every single day I would get up on stage and remind myself—no, this is the truth, this is the truth, this is the truth. Don’t get buried in confusion. Don’t get buried in waywardness. Just remmeber to steady the course, steady the course.
That’s the story behind “You Say.”
— Lauren Daigle
Lyrics:
I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I’m not enough
Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up
Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low?
Remind me once again just who I am because I need to know
You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
And You say I am held when I am falling short
And when I don’t belong, oh You say I am Yours
And I believe, (I) oh I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
I believe
The only thing that matters now is everything You think of me
In You I find my worth, in You I find my identity, ooh
You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
And You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don’t belong, oh You say I am Yours
And I believe, (I) oh I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
Oh, I believe
Taking all I have and now I’m laying it at your feet
You have every failure God, and You’ll have every victory, ooh
You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don’t belong, oh You say I am Yours
And I believe, (I) oh I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
I believe
Oh I believe, ah
Yes I believe, ah
What You say of me
Oh I believe

It is so beautiful, isn’t it? She’s become one of my favorite Christian artists. “Rescue” is my favorite so far and I think you’d love it, Carla! I shared it a few weeks ago, but it’s also on YouTube of course. Thanks ♥️
